Lord Narasimha`s Lilas
Call to service—Are you ready?
Sarvadiananda is from Portugal and came to the Ashram in 2021. His service as a pujari began before that, while he was still in Lisbon serving in the local temple, so when he moved to the Ashram, his willingness to serve the deities, who serve us all, was very much in his heart:
“At first, I was attracted to Lord Shiva, but soon I felt a strong connection with Lord Narasimha, who took all my attention. During the daily prayers in the temple, especially during the chanting of the Narasimha Kavacham and the Narasimha prayer, I felt happy and joyful, as if my soul was rejoicing, and gradually I became more and more captivated by the impressive and powerful presence of the deity.”
One day, as Sarvadiananda carried the lunch plate to the temple to be offered to the deities, he was deeply moved:
“Tears filled my eyes as I knelt before Lord Narasimha, thinking how incredible it would be to serve Him. Overwhelmed by the feeling, I went to my room for privacy and began to cry. Confused and unsure if these emotions were just passing or a true calling from the Lord, I asked for a sign, a confirmation. At that very moment, my roommate entered the room, singing the Narasimha prayer. I felt this was a clear sign that my connection with Lord Narasimha was real and that this was a true calling of my soul.”
Another powerful sign came when a pujari of Lord Narasimha shared a dream of the two of them serving the Lord side by side.
Sarvadiananda’s heart’s desire was fulfilled during Navaratri. It was Maha-Gauri day and the weddings were taking place; remembering his brahmachari initiation that had just taken place on Brahmacharini Devi day, Sarvadiananda inwardly said to Ma Gauri:
“These brides and grooms are getting married, and my heart is also joined in a special marriage—with God!”
Later that night Sarvadiananda received the message that Guruji had given him permission to serve Lord Narasimha! This marked a profound step in his spiritual journey and his service continues just as strong as it was in the beginning.
The Lord longs for us even more than we long for Him. Sarvadiananda’s experience shows that when we trust the whispers of the heart and have faith in the signs of the Divine, our bond with Him deepens, and the true purpose of our life is revealed.
The adventures of Serving a Deity!
Dhrudhavrat Das, although only 10 years old, is already part of the Ashram family. Like many boys of his age, he likes to hang out with his friends and play football in his spare time, but there is one thing that sets him apart: he is one of the temple pujaris and serves none other than Lord Narasimha!
One day, while serving the Lord, he had an unexpected experience:
“It was just another abhishekam, like many I had done before. When the curtains were closed, the pujari had just gone to get the arati plate and asked me to place the flower on Lord Narasimha. Standing on His left, I stretched to place the flower, but I slipped and was afraid I would fall into the drain, spilling the buckets of abishekam water behind me all over the altar. Suddenly, I felt a firm grip on my left hand and was surprised, thinking someone was holding me. When I straightened up, I realized that there was nobody there and my hand was close to Lord Narasimha’s hand, so I understood that it was the Lord who had saved me from falling.”
Dhrudhavrat Das also said the touch was soft, like a gentle paw, and it made him feel safe. He believes this special help saved him from big trouble and that Lord Narasimha was really protecting him.
This was indeed later confirmed by Guruji Himself who also said that this story should be shared to everyone.
Lord Narasimha’s Love and Protection in Everyday Life
Sarvadiananda’s call to service and Dhrudhavrat Das’s rescue reveal how Lord Narasimhav lovingly longs, protects, and watches over His devotees. These stories are more than just personal events—they are part of a larger picture that shows how the Divine is always with us, guiding and helping us in our daily lives.
Lord Narasimha’s role as a protector, powerfully portrayed in ancient stories, continues to touch the hearts of devotees today. The Bhagavata Purana recounts how Lord Narasimha saved Prahlad by overcoming Hiranyakashipu. Similarly, Sarvadiananda and Dhrudhavrat Das’s experiences are living proof of this eternal Divine Love, deep connection and protection.
